I contacted the Darvish firm at the recommendation of several organizations and individuals in the Pasadena area. My uncle had passed and I was the successor trustee and not from the LA area myself. The situation was complicated by the fact that my uncle had been acting as the executor of his partners probate case at the time of his death.
We met and Elan Darvish explained clearly what the firm could do for us and the expected fees. Their hourly rates were significantly lower than other firms that we had contacted and we entered into a contract with them.
The situation became more complicated than we originally anticipated as the trust left by my uncle had not been funded appropriately. Several complications with overlap between my uncles’ trust and his partners probate. We ended up filing a Heggstad petition to move assets into the trust and the initial ruling was not in our favor until Elan made oral arguments and we got the outcome we needed to move forward with implementing the trust with all the assets.

Elan was always available for my questions and explained everything clearly. It has been a frustrating process as I am a farmer and not familiar with legal terminology nor processes. However, when all was completed, everyone mentioned in the trust was very pleased with the outcome.
